Amazon Digital Services LLCI know this may sound entirely silly, but opening up my newly received Game of Thrones: Season One Blu- Ray box set was like opening up a gift from the Gods, old and new. Being that I watched this series way later than anybody that I know, and on a non- HD stream, as well as never investing money into a TV series before, I was blown away at the craftsmanship, thought, and beauty put into this set. Packaging. The entire set is intricately put together into a series of cases. A hard shell slip case houses the DVD booklet, digital copy certificate, and the Blu- Ray housing.~ DVD booklet: This envelope- style, bi- folding booklet houses Season One in its entirety on dual- sided DVD discs. Having the discs in a separate booklet like this makes it easy to bring a copy with you for satellite viewing, bring to a friend’s place, or mail off to get somebody else hooked on this amazing series - all without having to bring along the entire box set.

Even though I bought this package for the Blu- Ray discs, I am more excited about this feature than anything else in the packaging. Because the customer needs were thoroughly considered, implemented, and catered to.~ Digital Copy Certificate: This is pretty straight forward. It’s a simple slip of paper with instructions and an accompanying code to download a digital copy of the season onto a multitude of devices such as a tablet, overly complicated phone, laptop, etc.~ Blu- Ray Housing: A foldout casing is used to securely house the Blu- Ray discs for this set. This sounds fairly dull, but consider the function of each disc being stored separately and its ease of use for a customer.

In addition, the non- disc side of the disc foldout housing is printed with highly moody and beautifully shot photos of most of the main characters from Season One.
